Frequently Asked Questions

General

Track insurance is included with your experience.  We may follow up with you for additional information to ensure our insurance providers have everything they need to make sure you’re covered.

As long as the second driver meets our requirements, yes.  Please be aware that you are responsible for the vehicle while the second driver is behind the wheel.

Yes, but tire abuse is subject to additional charges up to and including tire replacement.

We understand things happen.  If you let us know more than two weeks in advance, we will provide you with a full refund less the 5% fee the bank charges us for processing.  If you cancel within a week, you are eligible for a refund of 50%.  If you cancel, the day of your scheduled experience, we apologize, but there is no refund.  We are not responsible for cancelling your track event or any cancellation fees imposed by the club hosting the event.

Most events run rain or shine.  If you signed up for the carbon fiber package, we will refund it if there is inclement weather on the day of the event as the tires mounted to those wheels are not safe to drive in rain.

If the event is deemed unsafe or the track day is cancelled, we will allow you to change to a Road Rallye experience or to reschedule for another day at no additional charge.  If you switch to a Road Rallye experience, you will be refunded the difference in price.

Yes, they can ride along with you on the street and can spectate at the track.  Most tracks do not allow for children to go out on track.  We do not provide helmets for children.

Drivers must be at least 18 years old with a valid license.

We choose cars that can accommodate a wide range of body types and heights, but can’t guarantee the car will fit you properly.  You will be wearing a helmet and will need to be able to fit comfortably inside the cabin.  Refunds are not provided if you do not fit in the car the day of the experience.  If you’re unsure, please reach out to us and we can have you test out fit ahead of time, free of charge.

Track experience includes:

  • Unlimited laps for the event
  • Track insurance
  • No need to worry about regular maintenance items, such as brakes, oil, and tires
  • Helmet

Road Rallye experience includes:

  • 200 miles on the open road
  • Additional miles are $2/mi

Given the variability of track day fees, we do not include them as part of our packages at this time.  This gives you the flexibility to choose the day, track, and event you’d like to attend.  See motorsportreg.com or trackrabbit.com for a full list of events in your area.

Fuel is also not included.  You are responsible for ensuring the vehicle is fueled for the event and when returned.

Pick up /Drop off

Once you checkout, Mike or Jeremy will reach out to you to arrange a location and time for you to pick up the car.

Same place you picked it up.  When you pick up, we’ll coordinate a drop-off time with you.

There are no hard mileage limits on track day experiences.  Pick up can be done the night before the event is scheduled, and drop-off would be immediately after the event concludes.

Road Rallye experiences include 200 miles on the open road.  Additional miles are $2/mile.

Our vehicles require premium fuel (91 or 93 octane).  The engine may go into “limp mode” if the incorrect octane fuel is added and you would be responsible for any service needed.  Bring us your fuel receipts showing you used premium and we’ll give you 5% back on your fuel bill.

While we ensure our vehicles are ready for use, sometimes things happen.  If you are not found at fault, we will offer you another vehicle for the same day if one is available.  If another vehicle is not available, you would be able to choose between a refund or sign up for a different day.  We’ll even provide something extra for your troubles.

When you sign up for a track day, the club you register with will contact you regarding specific rules, guidelines, address, and event schedule information.

Yes.  We plan to offer an automatic transmission in our next vehicle.

At the Track

Don’t worry, racing suits are not required.  We provide the helmet.  Most clubs require long pants and long sleeves and you must wear closed-toed shoes.  Some clubs have other requirements that you will need to verify prior to the event.

Driving at high RPMs consumes a lot of fuel.  Most cars will consume a full tank within an hour of on-track driving.  You are responsible for ensuring the car is fueled for the event.  Breaks are planned during the day, so know where the nearest gas station is and plan to make a trip during the day to fully refuel.  You should avoid being on track with 1/4 tank or less as you may starve the fuel pump during cornering.

We will provide the car to you with cold pressures preset at 30-32psi for each tire.  You are provided with an air pump and a tire gauge if needed.  The info display on the car can also tell you the tire pressure.  You should not need to adjust your pressures at the track.

We provide the vehicle with properly torqued lugs before you pick up the car.  Do NOT re-torque between sessions.  This can damage the wheel and/or studs.  If you are participating in a weekend experience, have the tech inspector verify the torque is set to 150ft-lbs.

You can take a passenger or a co-driver with you, but you will not be allowed to have them ride along with you while on track.  The instructor would be the only passenger allowed in the vehicle while on track.

Clubs hosting each track day event distribute their rules on their website, on the registration website, via email before the event, and at the event during the mandatory driver meetings.

Driver meetings are mandatory and your responsibility to attend.  If the club does not allow you to make up a missed driver meeting and therefore excludes you from driving at the event, no refund will be issued.

We recommend planning to arrive at least 30 minutes to an hour early to give yourself time to sign in, go through technical inspection, and be present at the driver meeting.

You should have your driver’s license with you for check-in when you arrive.

When you pit after each session, DO NOT set the parking brake.  You can set the car in gear or use a wheel chock to keep the car in place.  You will be responsible for damaged rotors from setting the parking brake in the pits.

Bring a hat and sunglasses even if it is not sunny in the morning. DO NOT wear sunscreen on any part of your body other than your nose.  Sun screen can damage the helmet liner and the sueded leather vehicle interior.  You will be charged a cleaning fee if sunscreen is found in the interior.

We are available to instruct at most track days you attend when driving our vehicles.  Otherwise, all clubs offer free instruction.  See the safety steward or head driving instructor before or immediately after the driver’s meeting to request an instructor.  Instructors are required to ride along with you during track experiences and will teach you how to navigate the course and handle the car.

Extras

Yes, action cameras can be provided for a nominal cost of $19.99 each.  You are responsible for recording footage and ensuring the battery is charged during the day.  You can also opt to bring your own cameras either as supplemental angles or in place of going with the video package.

Not yet, but we have plans of expanding our fleet and geographic footprint next year.  We’re thinking of an automatic C7 Corvette as our next car to engage those who are not comfortable driving stick in track conditions.

Yes!  We love referrals and want to get as many people to experience the track as possible.  If you have a referral, call us or email us and let us know.  We’ll provide you a 10% discount on your next experience with us.
